Discipleship Process

Stage 1:

Seeking Friendships.

WIDEN your circle of friends by connecting to people!

Jesus was called 'friend of sinners' in Luke 7:34.

Luke 7:34 (NLT)
The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say, ‘He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’

The Gospel is full of stories on how Jesus connected to people by seeking friendship with them.

Luke 19:10 (NLT)
For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.

We CONNECT to people by creating activities and program called "CP2G Events".

    Examples of CP2G Events
    (Connecting People to God Events)

  • Sports Fests

  • Concerts/ Open Mics

  • Cooking Lessons

  • Family Day / Picnic

  • Zumba / Yoga Exercise

  • Fishing / Biking

  • Birthdays / Anniversary

  • Christmas Carolling

  • What Else?

Remember, our goal in CONNECT is to SEEK FRIENDSHIP first!

Therefore, be friendly (not judgemental) and be ready to share the gospel at any given moment.

We follow the style of Jesus in CONNECTING to people. He was labeled as “friend of sinners and tax collectors” because He would sincerely reach out and befriend them.

“Nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to bring non-Christians into the church to get saved. In fact, there is not one instance in the Bible of anyone who ever got converted in a church or synagogue. For instance, in Luke 19, our Lord did not ask Zaccheus to meet Him at the synagogue on the Sabbath. Instead, He went to Zaccheus’ home. The misconception is that the pagan is supposed to come and hear; the Biblical mandate for the believer is to go and tell.
If we are to be salt and light in our world, we need to go where the lost are. That might mean inviting them into your home for dinner, going next door to visit with them, playing miniature golf together, or doing something else with them. The Holy Spirit will start working in their lives as they watch our lives and try to figure out why we are different.”

Seeking Friendships

Stage 2:

Building Relationships

Matthew's Spiritual Journey

Luke 5:27 (NLT)
Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him.

Luke 5:28 (NLT)
So Levi got up, left everything, and follwed him.

Luke 5:29 (NLT)
Later, Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them.

Luke 5:30 (NLT)
But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with such scum?

Luke 5:31 (NLT)
Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.

Luke 5:32 (NLT)
I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.

Who do you think is the church for? Who gets to be part of the Jesus gathering?

Is WIN Church designed for church people?

Is this our spoken message :
" Once you start believing and behaving like us, then you are welcome to join us."

The church must be a gathering of people who are in the process of seeking, understanding and believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

The church is the gathering of God's people for all people.

Remember, our goal in BELONG is to BUILD RELATIONSHIPS.

Therefore, be warm & welcoming as a church!

We are careful not to put pressure on them to believe the gospel, but instead respect their space and time; acknowledging that everyone is in a spiritual journey.

We let them enjoy their visits and allow God’s Spirit and His saving grace to work in their lives.

When we win their trust, their hearts will be open to the gospel, and we will see them coming back to our gatherings...

This means, we need to take a second look on how we do church...
