Hebrews 10:26-29

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Luke 11:9-10

9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

How is our prayer life? How consistent are we in terms of our communication with God?

Everyone will definitely agree with me that true prayer never occurs apart from a sense of need. The question is, do we feel dishearthened, if the answer did not meet our expectations? All of us who are Christians have struggled with the problem of unanswered prayer.  God sometime seems too late in answering our requests or meeting our needs? In some cases the situation is discouraging us so much that push us to think negatively and ask, “What is the use of praying?”

John 7
All the festivals point to the day of Jesus the Messiah and the prophetic fulfillment that only he can bring.

Yeshua the Messiah once went up to Jerusalem against such a backdrop of expectancy to celebrate Sukkot. Yeshua’s brothers had invited him to go up to “show yourself to the world” (Yochanan /John 1 7:4, CJB), and he declined. But later “he too went up, not publicly but in secret.

At the festival, the Judeans were looking for him ‘Where is he?’ they asked” (vv. 10–11, CJB). All the festivals point to the day of Messiah and the prophetic fulfilment that only he can bring. In Yochanan’s account, Yeshua finally shows himself to the world, as his brothers had suggested, “On the last day [of the festival, Hoshana Rabbah” (7:37, CJB).

1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy………..” blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.  John 20:29

Who is Peter?

Peter is one of the twelve disciples of Jesus he was the first to realize that Jesus was the Messiah, who also misunderstood Jesus’ mission, who denied Jesus three times during his trial and so on…  But Jesus forgave him and restored him and worked through even Peter’s failures and make him a key leader of the early Christian movement.  Peter is in “Babylon” —figurative for Rome, where he was arrested and crucified upside-down within a year or two after this letter.

LUKE 18:1-8

Parables on Prayer

18 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, 2 saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. 3 There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me legal protection from my opponent.’ 4 For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’” 6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge *said; 7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? 8 I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
